About Me
So this is the page where I tell you about me. Umm…I’m actually not good talking about myself and better at talking about things that I do or happen. I guess I’ll give it a go though.
So my name is Sonja, and yes that’s a pen name. Actually, quite a few people call me Sonja. It’s a long story that maybe someday I’ll put into my blog. (which I did here)
Anyway, I live in the Metro area of Detroit (for those of you who don’t know what that means, I don’t actually live IN the city, but in the surrounding area). (Actually, as of Nov. 2011, I live in FL. Long(ish) story.) I was born in 1977 so that makes me however years old it makes me at the time you’re reading this. I have a daughter who I am EXTREMELY proud of and love to talk about. And who is turning out to be just like me. World beware, I’ve made a clone!!! I also love talking about my significant other, DJ. Mostly because he puts up with me and, in certain cases, fuels my eccentricities. Both of them actually “get me” where most people don’t. I have the world’s greatest friends. They support me (even if they don’t always get me), they provide bail (when needed) and, in some (a lot) of cases, they get into trouble with me. My little world is always interesting. Whether it be from going out and exposing the world to my craziness or sitting at home on the internet.
I have a number of medical conditions that often make life interesting, painful, boring and entertaining. Some of these include, but are not limited to, a closed-head injury, moderate OCD, endometriosis, dyslexia (don’t know if that’s actually medical, but it’s going in this list), acid-reflux, over-active bladder, arthritis, anxiety/depression,insomnia, sleepwalking, chronic migraine and Raynaud’s Phenomena (holy shit! I spelled that right w/o spell check!). I also have a number of conditions that aren’t medical that include, but aren’t limited to, a foul mouth (if you can’t take swearing, go away), foot-in-your-mouth syndrome, Pollyanna Complex (quit laughing those of you who know me!), chronic laziness and I-don’t-give-a-fuck disease. I have obsessions with weird shit, vampires, fairies, television, and a tone of other stuff. Really the list is too long to put here. Keep reading and you’ll learn them.
One of my hobbies, for as long as I can remember (oh yeah, I have memory issues), has been writing. I have never had anything published, but that may be because I have never tried. I don’t care enough to publish anything. Plus the idea of dead-lines scares the shit outta me. So I have written short stories, books, and now I’m finding out about blogging. PERFECT! I can say what I want and no one to tell me what to say and it goes out where anyone can read it?!?! BRILLIANT!!! I will grow my minions in no time. Or it will still take forever because now everyone knows it’s coming. One of those.
I am very open minded and sociable. I love talking to and meeting new people. As long as they don’t touch me. People have germs. Eww. That’s just another point for internet! (The OCD causes me to have another whole list of phobias. Some are and some aren’t realistic. One of those is misophobia, or germ-aphobia.) My point being, feel free to comment or contact me and don’t worry about what you say. If I don’t like it, I’ll just delete it. But as long as you’re not rude about my kid or to any of the other commenters you should be fine no matter what you say. I got big-girl panties on and I can handle a lot of weird, odd, fucked-up shit that will probably look completely normal to me.
So enough about me. If you want to find out more about me you'll just have to read the blogs.
And... thank you for taking the time to read my blog. Even if you never visit again.
